Mountain bike cow bell with volume control and fixed assembly
The idea for "Timber!" comes from sunny California. Here, the motion-controlled bell has been specially developed for mountain bikers who are on a trail. In the often confusing paths, other
Drivers and Hiker have already been made aware from afar by the constant and getting louder cowbell sound. This is done in a friendly, pleasant way - instead of aggressively ringing your way at the last second.
With a lever, the clapper can either be adjusted to the maximum volume so that it swings freely or you throttle the noise by slightly fixing the clapper. If you don't need "Timber!", the clapper can also be completely locked and you can
"turn off" Timber! totally.
In addition to the use of MTB in the terrain, "Timber!" is also ideal for use in the city. Often there are confusing areas such as bus stops or tourist centres, where pedestrians often cross the bike path without looking. Here it can be
very useful to activate "Timber!"
It makes sense to install directly next to the grip to be able to operate "Timber!" quickly with your thumb as you are used to from other bells. If the bell is used only occasionally, it can also be used well in the middle of the
handlebars be fastened. "Timber! Bolt-On" fits 22.2 and 31.8mm handlebar diameter. A shim is provided for 22.2mm handlebars. For oversize and downhill bars, the mount must be attached with the shim near the handle.
The latest version (4.0, April 2021) of the "Timber Bolt-On Bell" offered here is intended for permanent, fixed assembly. The model is identical to the original quick release model, but it has a fixed,
durable mount, where the bell does not spin or rattle on the handlebars.
A 5mm hex key is required for installation. It is not necessary to dismantle other components such as brake and shift levers. The fastening ring is carefully bent and pressed over the handlebars at the desired point.
In the current version, various components (such as the shift lever) have been reinforced to allow the bell to withstand even gnarliest crashes. The bell is made of solid brass, with a black finish. The lever, bracket and distance ring are made of durable plastic.
